A very good friend of mine Matthew Tidmore was injured in a car accident prior to joining the Army. He was cleared by the doctors to join Special Ops. They told him he was fine to go through all of the training but the more training he did, the worse his medical conditions got. At the beginning of his career he began as a mechanic then moved into engine flight where he was a crew chief where he worked nights and saw a whole lot of traumatizing gunfire and was constantly shot at, then was moved up in rank and appointed Quality Control.
(Basically supervising all work on all the helicopters in the unit He also worked 24-48 hour shifts by the end of it. He was deployed seven times during his career in the Army. When he got on his last job, he was asked to do the job of several people. His job was very rushed. One day, there was an accident with one of the helicopters and he lost several of his fellow soldiers. He felt as if it was his fault. After this accident, he was restless and couldnt sleep for days because he blamed himself. While waiting for the crash to be investigated, he assumed it may have been a maintenance error on his behalf that took the lives of his fellow brothers in arms. He saw several people killed in battle and had to do some himself. My friend applied for disability with the VA before leaving the Army and only got ten percent, which is only $133 a month. He cannot work due to the injuries he has accumulated throughout the ten years. He's an amazing person and great father. He gets a very small amount of money every month and CANNOT physically work. He is in some serious pain every single day and also has nightmares and extremely high anxiety due to the above. He was on Child Support and doesn't receive anywhere near what he needs to take care of his children. He is currently waiting to get approved to get his 100% VA disablility. His wife can't work because he can't drive himself around to all of his appointments to Atlanta to the VA. They make a few trips a week. (Which is also very expensive on gas) They have already lost a house that they owned and built their family in, in Savannah. They are losing their car because they are behimd on the car payments and also rent at their current home bc of his sudden drastic drop of income. (From making around to $40/hr to only $133 dollars a month) This family needs help catching up on his child support, bills (car insurance, rent, etc), also Christmas for these sweet baby boys. They are the sweetest couple I know. They would give you the shirts off their backs. Their parents help as much as possible during this rough patch but right now, they can use as much help as possible and as many prayers as possible. Please help this very deserving veteran and his family get back on track until he can get approved for a raise in his disability.
Thank you in advance. I set this account up, but made it to where they are the ONLY ones that can get the money off of the account. I'm sure all you would have to do is ask Matt about his experiences and you would completely understand why I have so much love for this family and want to help them so badly.
