Matthew's Pilgrimage to Rome

Howdy! My name is Matthew Deane, and while some of you may know me very well, I am hoping that this open letter will reach far and wide in order to reach my goal. That means that an introduction is in order!

I am currently a first-year student at Texas A&M University but more importantly, I am a devout Catholic who has been very involved with the Catholic community there! I have had a blast getting to know the people at St. Mary’s and I have even been offered the opportunity to go on a pilgrimage with them to Rome this summer!

That is where you come in. Rome is very far away and surprisingly, it costs a lot of money to travel to and stay in a foreign country! This would be the most amazing opportunity to build my faith and learn more about the history and heart of my beliefs. To walk where saints have walked and see the sights that have inspired millions. I cannot express how much it would change my life to be able to experience what I know this trip has to offer. It is a once-in-a-lifetime chance and I need your help to make it happen.

I know it’s a lot to ask but any amount helps and it would seriously mean the world to me if you could donate anything towards this trip. My goal is to raise about $5000 and anything above and beyond that will go towards bringing something cool back for my mom so feel free to break that goal (if you won’t do it for me, do it for Inke!) Anything helps, and I’m sure that we can reach this goal before the summer.
