My brother, Matthew was admitted to the hospital with abdominal pain on August 21, and after several scans it was discovered he had a hernia and a mass on his kidney.      They repaired the hernia and scheduled a consultation with a urologist.   The decision was made to proceed with surgery to remove the mass on October 31.   Yes - on Halloween!   The surgery was successful and we are awaiting pathology results on the mass.   

Matthew was told shortly before surgery that he did not qualify for short term disability due to the one year requirement.   According to the doctors he will be out of work 4-6 weeks, most of which will be without pay.

Thankfully he does have insurance that will cover a portion of his medical expenses - but we all know his portion will be substantial too.   

This is something we are doing because so many people are asking how they can help.  The funds donated will be used to pay medical bills and his monthly living expenses.

I ask you to pray about helping us in this way, and if so led, make a donation.   The amount he will owe will be substantial, but together we can make that amount much smaller.
