A Story of Strength: Matthew's New Beginning
Just one month away from his high school graduation, Matthew at just 18 years old was on top of the world. A young, athletic senior with a heart full of dreams and a future that felt wide open. Whether it was on the field, in the books, working his after school job as a USC Athletics Turf Specialist or simply being the kind of friend everyone could count on, Matthew brought passion, positivity, and drive into everything he did.
But in the blink of an eye, everything changed.
Matthew was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident that nearly took his life. He was rushed to emergency care, barely hanging on — suffering a fractured skull, broken arm, broken nose, a punctured liver and kidney, a severe puncture wound through his glute, and a broken leg that will require amputation. He has endured pain most of us can't imagine and is facing a recovery journey that will test every ounce of his courage.
And yet… Matthew is still here. He is a breathing miracle. His faith in God kept coming in and out of focus as the lifeblood in his body was quickly escaping with each passing minute. He woke to an army of angels surrounding him keeping him here with us, Matthew recalled the moments right after the crash where he pleaded with God and asked the heroes that found him to pray with him.
While we are endlessly thankful he survived, the road ahead is long. Matthew will need multiple surgeries, months of physical therapy, prosthetic rehabilitation, and emotional healing as he adjusts to a completely new life — a life that none of us could have prepared for.
This is where we come in. Family, friends, and compassionate strangers alike — we have the chance to help Matthew rise again. To help him walk again. To help him dream again.
No donation is too small. Whatever comes to heart, every bit helps — whether it goes toward his medical bills, therapy sessions, or the support systems that will help Matthew rediscover purpose and joy. Most of all continue to pray with us and for us.
Please consider being part of Matthew’s story — not as a tragedy, but as a powerful comeback. His strength is already inspiring, and with your support, there’s no limit to how far he can go.
Joshua 1:9 “ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, and do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. ❤️
