Matthew’s Brain Surgery & Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Taylor and my younger brother, Matthew, is about to face his 3rd brain surgery over the course of the past 3 years. He has a mass at the center of his brain, inside the 4th ventricle that has stopped the fluid in his brain from flowing the way it is supposed to. During his two previous brain surgeries he’s had, they have tried different surgical approaches to reduce its size as well as, added an implantable device to help with excess fluid drain into his abdomen. However, this mass in his brain keeps coming back, and getting bigger each time. Currently, it’s pressing on vital structures of his brain including his brain stem and the cerebellum. The surgeon is going to attempt to reduce its size- although it can’t be completely removed. Since it’s grown into the surrounding tissue, they are only able to remove pieces of it. This time around the surgery is going to be much riskier, and involve a much longer recovery. Matthew has a long journey ahead of him and is going to be off work for a few months to heal, if everything goes well and he doesn’t have any complications. There’s so much unknown how his condition and how it is going to progress. From what we’ve been told it’s very rare to develop a mass in this area.
Many of our family and friends that are aware of what has been happening with Matthew, have thoughtfully asked, how they can support him during this time.
Even with his medical insurance he will still have a significant amount of medical bills, in addition to his monthly bills.
This is why I am creating this to
show him support, so that others who love and cherish him as much as I do, and from those who’ve asked how they can help him- hopefully this will provide him some peace and have one less thing to worry about. He has a long road of healing ahead of him, and I know he would greatly appreciate your generosity.
Your love and prayers are also a wonderful way to show your support of him and all that he is going through. Thank you for your prayers of healing, your kindness, generosity, and love.
