Hope in Handcycles

After my many dances with death, including a concussion, being paralyzed for 7+ hours, spinal tap, dialysis, chemotherapy 12x and fevers as high as 106°, all due to becoming struck with a rare disease (Neuro Myelitis Optica)... I learned to walk again(kinda haha)
Walking is great, but winning skateboard competitions since 12 yr old along with any other extreme sport I came across was more my speed... So naturally when one of my best friends introduced me to handcycles I feel in love!
I recently rode 200+ miles and raised nearly $700 for Children's Cancer Research. After being recognized by a friend, he informed me of a contest being held for the opportunity to win $25,000! I created a video about my story, purpose and goal to make handcycles more affordable and entered the contest!
Much to my surprise I was chosen as one of the finalists out of over 800 contestant's!!!
I was flown to San Diego and multiple interviews were done over about a week... It was an amazing experience and even tho I did not win, I couldnt be happier for those 3 awesome individuals (now my good friends) who did win!!!
Every year Challenge Athletes Fund(CAF) holds a triathlon to celebrate and raise awareness for, you guessed it, Challenged athletes like myself!
I've been training for this triathlon for a few months now. Unfortunately the handbike I use has been cracked and re-welded so many times it's falling apart. This isn't even my bike!
So I'm letting go and giving it to Go Fund Me! In Hope's that I can raise enough money to purchase or even rent a handcycle in time for the 44 mile bike ride (after my 1 mile swim) that lays ahead of me for the CAF triathlon!
Even just reading this means alot to me, your time thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated!
❤Thank you❤
