Tribute

Matthew Robert Yost, beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away January 30, 2024, at the tender age of 24. His unexpected passing has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born to Manuel Yost (Monica) and Maria Cummins (Chris) on September 4, 1999, Matthew brought immense joy and light into the lives of his family from the very beginning. Alongside his loving parents, Matthew leaves behind his cherished brother Michael, and step-siblings Hailey, Jessica, Tyler, and Timmy.

Matthew's love knew no bounds, extending not only to his immediate family but also to his dear grandmother, Mary Kaminski, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom were deeply touched by his presence in their lives.

An animal lover through and through, Matthew shared a special bond with his pets Buddy and Gracie, who brought him endless happiness and companionship.

Matthew was a young man of diverse interests and passions. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was shooting hoops while passionately supporting his beloved Detroit Pistons, or cheering on the Detroit Lions with unwavering pride. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious, and his spirit lit up any room during game nights with family and friends.

In addition to sports, Matthew found solace and enjoyment in the camaraderie of video games, the thrill of competition in corn hole and bowling, and the laughter shared among friends during leisurely hangouts.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Matthew will always remember his infectious laughter, his warm smile, and his unwavering loyalty. He had a way of making everyone feel valued and loved, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.

A visitation to honor Matthew's life will be held on Wednesday, February 7, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, with a Sharing of Memories Service scheduled for 6pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. Fifteen Mile Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan. This gathering will provide an opportunity for all who knew and loved Matthew to come together, share stories, and find solace in each other's company as they navigate this difficult time.

While Matthew may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May we find comfort in the cherished memories we shared with Matthew and in the knowledge that he is now at peace, forever watching over us with love from above.

Rest in peace, dear Matthew. You will be deeply missed and eternally remembered.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the family are sincerely appreciated during this difficult time. Your generosity and support will help alleviate the financial burden as they navigate through this period of loss and grief. Thank you for considering honoring Matthew's memory in this meaningful way.
