As if 2020 couldn’t get any worse, it did for our friend Matthew Rogers. On September 3rd he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident.

Thankfully Matt will recover from his accident but the severity of his injuries will keep him off his feet and unemployed for some time. He has a broken right leg, broken neck, blown out pinky and fractured/swollen spinal injury. The spinal injury is the most concerning because it is affecting basic hand function. These injuries will require months of recovery and he will need extensive physical therapy and rehab.

While Matt is in the hospital, he still has financial obligations like paying rent, bills, groceries, and lawyers fees. Matt was making the moves to better his financial situation at a job that paid well and was due for a promotion. The hours were mostly nights at a manufacturing plant in North Kansas City. With a promotion, he had plans to finalize a loan for a car.  

His Instagram stories could tell you that he is a hard working dude who enjoys simple pleasures like riding bicycles or motorcycles and hanging out with his friends.

Matthew is a member of our community and a good friend to all. Many of us have  shared great times with Matt and it will be a long while before he can create new memories with us while his body and injuries recover.
