Matthew Reda’s Memorial Fund

Told by Zoe Cahoon—

On January 15th, my brother, Matthew Reda, lost his life. As I try to write this, it still doesn’t feel real. It’s hard to refer to my brother in the past tense.

As hard as this may be for my family and I to write this, Matthew had a huge heart. He was so loved. People who knew him know that he struggled throughout his life, but he never failed to bring light into different people’s lives in different ways. He was a lost soul that no longer has the chance to be found.

We are still trying to figure out what the next steps are while trying to go through the grieving process at the same time. The cost of a memorial service, plane tickets, hotels, plus everything else that comes along with this process is something my family is having an extremely hard time with. Unsure about how we will pay for everything, we are praying that we could get some help. Anything helps. My family and I are so thankful for the love and support we have already received. Thank you everyone.

This story about what happened may be vague, but we are trying to keep things as personal as possible during this time. Thank you all for understanding.
