One of our Adelaide-based Maintenance Technicians Matt Perrie was recently diagnosed with terminal colon cancer and given 6-12 months to live. However, Matt was offered a literal lifeline when doctors informed him that he could undergo a total colon transplant. The procedure was successfully completed and Matt is now expected to make a full recovery.
In the lead up to Matt's cancer diagnosis he was forced to take multiple days off work due to his illness and the multiple medical appointments, blood transfusions, testing and examination. Now combined with the time off for the transplant surgery and the first weeks of recovery Matt has exhausted all of his accrued sick leave and annual leave.
I am hoping to raise some funds for Matt so he can have a stress-free recovery without worrying unduly about basic day to day financial matters.
Matt is super keen to return to work (he says he will be back in 2-3 weeks, the medical advise is 4-6 weeks).
Any funds raised will help Matt to get through these next few weeks until he can get back on the tools.
Please contribute if you are able.
