We tragically lost Matthew Parks to a car accident on on July 14, 2020. Matthew was only 21 years old and was currently living his best life. He had plans, goals, and paths to reach them. We will never understand why God needed him more than us, but we have faith he is in a better place doing God’s work.
The enormous outpouring of support from Matthew’s network of friends has been more heartwarming than words can convey. You are helping us get through the most tragic event we have ever endured. One of Matthew’s close friends messaged me and asked if he could start a go fund me to help with funeral expenses. He also stated that Matthew always talked about his little brother Ashton, 16 years old, and more often than not let Ashton tag along and play in pick up soccer games with the big guys or just chill with the group. He stated anything extra should go to Ashton because that’s what Matthew would have wanted.
Matthew and Ashton have been planning and dreaming about their futures together as far back as we can remember. They had trips, business plans, and experiences planned and dreamed up that they would have no doubt achieved.
A lot of people have been reaching out wanting to help or contribute in some way. People have been asking where to send flowers or monetary help for memorial services. My family is so blessed that an offer was made to take care of memorial expenses immediately.
If you want to make any donations we are starting a trust that will go directly to Ashton Parks when he comes of age to help with college, start those businesses, and live out the dreams he and his brother created. Matthew and Ashton were each other’s biggest fans. We can not think of a better way to tribute and honor Matthews life than this.
