Raising money for the funeral of Matthew Orr

Donation protected
We are raising money to help celebrate the life of Matthew Orr aka Makka.

His unexpected and untimely death has been a devastating shock to everyone who knew and loved him.

This page has been set up to help with the costs of his funeral. If you are able to make a donation, no matter how small, we would be so grateful as this will help us give Matt the send off he deserves.

Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting or knowing Matt will know exactly what we mean when we say that he was one in a million.
People would always comment on what a great and nice guy he was, and on his comic timing when he would leave the whole room in hysterics from one of his witty one liner's.

Ever the adventurer, Matt embarked on travelling the world spanning multiple countries and continents across the globe and exploring destinations some would only dream of.

After returning from his world adventures and armed with his passion for surfing, Matt moved down to Newquay. He fell in the love with the place after spending a Summer there working alongside some of his closest friends and decided to make it his home.

During his time in Newquay, Matt would come back every Summer to his hometown of Eastbourne to spend time with his friends and family. He always said that he lived for those Summers, and they meant so much to him spending time with the people that mattered to him most.

Matt returned to Eastbourne at the end of 2021 to surround himself with the support of his family and friends, as he was finding life difficult to navigate and reached out for help. Matt’s struggles continued despite multiple offers of help and support from family, friends and health professionals.
In August of this year, things took a turn for the worst and Matt attempted to take his own life. Thankfully this was a failed attempt however, despite further offers of help Matt made two more attempts until on the 26th of September 2022 we received the devastating news that he had succeeded in taking his life.

The ripple effect of Matt’s passing reaches far and wide and will be felt forever by all who loved him.

Due to the sudden nature of his passing, the family are in the difficult position of being unprepared to provide Matt with a funeral, so we have set this page up with the hope that we can give Matt the full send off he deserves.

We also fully appreciate the cost of living crisis and appreciate people are struggling financially, which is why if you are able to make a donation, no matter the amount, it means all the more in the current climate.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Rest In Peace Matt x
