Hello Family and Friends,
On May 28th, 2022, we lost Matthew Noon, who was a shining presence in so many people's lives. Matt was loved by all and had a kind spirit and sensitive heart that allowed for a deep and natural connection with those in his personal circle and business associates alike. Although his death leaves an emptiness that will always be felt, we can honor his outstanding legacy by creating the Matthew Noon Entrepreneurial Memorial Scholarship. This fund will kick off our first year of fundraising!
This scholarship will support driven students who, like Matt, have the passion and grit to build successful businesses. We will evaluate applicants based on their entrepreneurial spirit, work experience, community involvement, and financial need.
Matt lived an extraordinary life as an entrepreneur, business leader, inventor, writer, and President of Noon Turf Care. At just 16 years old as a sophomore in high school at Lincoln-Sudbury, he started his first company, quickly doubling his client base by graduation.
While earning his bachelor's degree in history from Boston College in 2002, Matt continued operating his business full-time while still making time for college life and Eagles games. Following graduation, Matthew and his brother Chris partnered and grew Noon Turf Care to be the 2nd largest turf care business in New England.
In 2002, Matt earned the New England Collegiate Entrepreneur of the Year award. He was dedicated to elevating client service standards in the industry, contributing monthly columns to three of the largest trade publications and serving on each of their advisory boards.
In his free time, Matt mentored college entrepreneurs through the Boston College Entrepreneurs' Society. In addition to his Boston College degree, he also studied at the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management Program.
After selling Noon Turf Care, Matt and his brother Chris established PurLawn in Delray Beach, FL, where Matthew served as President up until his untimely death.
Matt left an unmatched legacy of innovation and leadership. We cannot think of a better way to honor his memory than by cultivating the next generation of talented young entrepreneurs. Through this scholarship, Matt's inspirational spirit will keep lighting the path forward for others. As Matt's two sons grow up, they will see how many lives their father touched and the impact he made in such a short time.
Please feel free to reach out for more information on ways to get involved. We are hoping to expand, one step at a time. The more the merrier!
With love,
The Noon Family
