The community of Perth is mourning the loss of 24-year-old electrician Matthew Milner, who tragically passed away Saturday 29th July 2023, while performing work in the roof space of a residence. This tragic incident is a reminder of the inherent risks associated with the profession and highlights the necessity for stringent safety measures in the workplace.

Matthew who also moonlighted as a DJ at various venues in Western Australia, had qualified as an electrician almost 12 months ago.

Matthew Milner married his wife, Monique Milner, only a year ago. Monique shared her profound grief on social media, vowing to live out the life they had envisioned together. The sudden loss of her partner emphasised the unpredictability of life and the fragility of human existence.

Matthew’s friends and colleagues remember him for his warmth and sense of humour. The young electrician was known to light up any room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on those he interacted with. His untimely death has left a void in the hearts of many.

The tragic death of Matthew Milner is a stark reminder of the inherent risks that come with working with electricity. It is an important reminder of the need to cherish every moment, as life can be unpredictably short.

As the community mourns the loss of a beloved individual, it is hoped that this tragic incident will serve as a catalyst for change, leading to improved safety measures in workplaces across the nation. Matthew’s death serves as a stark reminder of the importance of workplace safety and reinforces the need for constant vigilance to prevent such incidents in the future.
