Matthew Longbons Needs Your Help
Chicago Bass Player and Sound Engineer Matthew Longbons has undergone emergency treatment for severe pneumonia. Matt is most known for his extended national and international stints with Chicago based bands Led Zeppelin 2 and The Ghettobillies. As a player and tech, he is a fixture of the Chicago Music Community.
Beginning as what seemed like the flu, Matt contracted a serious bacterial infection that came to rest and grow between his lungs and his chest wall. This condition led to nearly a week spent in the Intensive Care Unit and culminated in emergency surgery to physically remove the infection. The expense is off the chart.
Like so many freelancers, Matt is underinsured and the accumulated medical expenses are astronomical. There is no way he is going to be able to pay for it all out-of-pocket. If you are able, we hope that you will be willing to contribute whatever you can to help offset these expenses. His friends in the Chicago Music Community have been working tirelessly to usher him through the hospitalization and recovery process to allow Matt to get back to his feet and back to work. We would all be very grateful for whatever you could contribute to help reduce the financial burden.
