On August 1, 2019, Mathew King experienced a complete loss of appetite and the ability to move around without loss consciousness. He was admitted to the hospital August 4, 2019 into the renal intensive care unit for kidney failure and internal bleeding. Many emergency tests were done to try to determine cause and location of internal bleeding. Kidney biopsies were taken in order to determine lack of kidney function in order to avoid possible transplant, and it was ultimately determined that the bleeding was originating from Matthew’s lungs. The kidney biopsy determined that Matthew is suffering from an auto immune disorder called GPA Vasculitis; this has caused lesions in both the lungs and the kidneys. Matthew will be treated with plasma phoresis. After this is completed and he experiences no complications , Matt will then start chemo therapy to suppress radical antibodies. He is looking at another 7-10 days in the hospital, and thereafter will be treated with monthly chemo therapy in outpatient care. Matthew King is not only a loving and devoted father, he is also a hardworking man of God. Throughout starting his own business he has ministered into the lives of many people; God uses our trials and tribulations in many ways.
