Matthew Jones and Family Assistance
Donation protected
On February 7, 2017, at around 10 pm, Officer Matthew Jones and his family suffered a devastating fire in their home. Thankfully, he, his young daughter, and his mother were unharmed, but they lost everything that they had. Understandably, they are devastated.
Officer Jones is an employee of FMC Butner, a federal prison in Butner, NC. He has been employed there since 2000. He is an amazing officer and an amazing person. This page is being started to assist him and his family with rebuilding, literally from the ground up.
They need EVERYTHING, so no donation is too small.
If you are more capable or comfortable donating clothing, their sizes are as follows:
Mom: 18-20pants, 2X Shirt, 10 Wide Shoe
Maliyah: 5/6 Juniors, M/L Shirt 7.5/8 Shoe
Matthew: 38/40x32 pants, 2X Shirt, 11.5/12 shoe
Donations of clothing will be accepted at FMC Butner by Tamara Neal, RN on unit 4B, from 0600-1830, J. Wiggins, correctional counselor in mental health on the 1st floor on day watch, and Officer G. Brown on unit 1G, evening watch. Officer Brown will also accept cash donations from people who are not comfortable donating via this page and who object to the fact that fees are taken out of donations.
Everyone, we have chosen this venue because it is the easiest way to reach a large number of people.
To my co-workers, one of US needs US. All of us at some point has complained and/or rolled our eyes about the term "bureau family." Well, it's our opinion that family is what you make it. We don't need to rely on "Mom and Dad" when we have each other. Matthew is a great officer. He is friendly and personable, and I don't know anyone who has ever met him who doesn't like him. I have no doubt that if one of us were in need and he could assist, he would not hesitate. So I need the FAMILY to step up. Give as little or as much as you can and help this family, OUR BROTHER, out.
Thank you in advance and may God touch each and every one of your hearts.
Tamara Neal, RN and Seantoya Hinton, former co-worker and current friend
