Matthew Neis, devoted family man to Sara and their 19 year old son Riley, passed away suddenly on January 8, 2020 as a result of metastatic cancer. His disease was unknown to Matthew and his family. The shock and unexpectedness has left Sara and Riley reeling...not only emotionally, but financially, with limited resources to manage funeral and living costs.
Matthew attended St. Thomas the Apostle school and Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids, graduating in 1987. He was a proud member of the wrestling team and spoke often over the years of his classmates and the great memories he had. Matthew wanted Riley to experience the close-knit extended family of these schools and enrolled him at St. Thomas, where he graduated and then went on to attend Catholic Central. Riley was the third generation of the Neis family to attend these schools, following the footsteps of his beloved dad and late grandfather.
