Helping Hitcho Combat Cancer
Hello my name is Matthew Hitchens better known as Matty or Hitcho, proudly from Broadwater NSW but now call Agnes Water QLD home.
Recently I had an accident and broke my leg in the surf, whilst in Gladstone hospital I was diagnosed with cancer. After this I was then flown straight to Brisbane for further treatment.
My family followed me down and have been staying in Brisbane which has been quite costly as the outcome was unknown I wanted to keep the family together.
Things have then escalated I've been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic carcinoma (renal). like most of us I didn't foresee nor plan this.
I am unable to work again and I was my families sole income. I have 3 children I have been bringing up as a single dad.
We are now in desperate financial position and are struggling to be able to afford accommodation, alternative medications and surviving in general.
I have started some alternative treatments and am determined to beat this, my kids wont survive without me so I've got to.
We also have out lease ending at the end of July. as I'm sure you are aware Agnes water and half the rest of QLD is in some form of rental shortage. If there is anyone out there that could help with a rental in Agnes water even if only short term for now. My kids have spent there whole lives here and to relocate at a time like this would be detrimental to all of us coping and healing through this sudden life changing event.
I never have asked for anything but right now I need anything to help me support myself and my beautiful kids through this journey and any help will be appreciated beyond what words can describe.
