Matthew Garner's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
This is an update from Amber Garner from today 5/15
Hey Everyone!

I wanted to give a bit of an update. Mat is still on a vent but it sounds like if all continues how it's seeming to go, they will remove it tomorrow!!! We have added cardio and kidney doctors to the mix as his heart rate is a bit low and his creatinine levels are a bit high. The nurse i have been talking to overalls believes these are responses to the trauma and the being stuck in a hospital bed and she feels fairly confident that they'll turn around and be where they should be soon.

We had a cool moment that im clinging to. It was a bit scary to see but also just so great. We had some family here and I was telling Mat how loved he is and was listing the names of who was in the room and in the middle of listing them off he opened his eyes and was looking around at us all. He did get pretty agitated shortly after due to his tube. He really wants it out. But these are all good signs that there isnt too much damage, if any, when it comes to cognitive function! Praise God!!!!

I let the girls speaker talk to him and tell them they love him and miss him just so he could hear their voices. I am going to keep them away from here until he is off the vent as it's pretty hard even as an adult to see him in his current state. I just wanna protect those babies from anything trauma best I can.

Thank you for the outpouring of love, you guys. The amount of you who have reached out is overwhelming and beautiful and, just thank you so much for loving on my husband and family right now!!! He is such a good man and he is so loved and it is sooo evident.

Please continue the prayers! Pray for good rest, continued healing, no swelling, and that his creatinine and heart rate go back to where they should be. Pray for no delays and complete healing!!!

As some of you may know, Matthew Garner fell at work on 5/14 and suffered a head injury. He's had 2 seizures and a brain bleed. He is currently in a medically induced coma in ICU to let his brain heal and will be for the next few days, if not longer. CT scans currently look pretty good but the fear is the swelling of the brain may increase in the next few days. The first 72 hours are crucial.

Amber and Mat have a village behind them and I know people are asking how they can help.

Please consider a financial donation to the family to help offset some of the financial costs associated with his hospital stay, ambulance ride, and time out of work. Please keep him in your prayers. Pray for peace and healing. Pray he remains calm and isn't feeling pain. Pray peace and calm over Mat

The Garners are strong and resilient, let’s take the financial burden from them. Thank you everyone for the outpouring of love and support for the Garners ❤️
