Paying Tribute to Matthew Coombs

Our friend and colleague, Matthew Coombs, recently passed away unexpectedly in the prime of his life. He is survived by his wife Kanistha (Koni) and his two sons Arya (4) and Ashok (2) and his parents Mike and Lisa Coombs. Matthew had two passions in life, academic research and his family. Many of us knew Matthew as talented and gifted research scientist, with an innate ability to come up with novel engineering and biological concepts. However, we appreciated him more for his friendliness, nurturing demeanor and for helping those around him. He exemplified human kindness on a daily basis and was a great and loving husband, father, son and colleague. Matthew touched many people in his brief time with us and will be missed dearly.
Please consider helping out his loved ones through this difficult time as they navigate this tragedy and move forward in life without him. Donations will go directly to his wife, Kanistha Chatterjee Coombs, to help with end of life costs and future expenses.
