If you’re one of the people lucky enough to know Matt Britt you’d know he has an aptitude for helping people in their hour of most need. His home in the Lahaina Residential complex was completely destroyed by fire.

Matthew Britt has been a Lahaina Resident for three decades where he raised two Lahainaluna grads. He’s a stand up guy and he’s touched the lives of hundreds of people. An air mattress was a near fixture in his living room where he hosted sleepers between jobs, nationalities and in various states of recovery.

While Matt would tell you to donate money elsewhere, if you are looking for a direct and meaningful way to contribute, he’s my nomination. 100 percent of donations will be disbursed directly to him.

Like so many affected, he will be looking for a new place to live and to reorient a life from. He’ll need first and last months rent on a new place, a bed, and just the effects of a human being. I won’t be supervising how he uses the money, but he’s smarter than he looks, sometimes funny and irregularly kind hearted.
