My name is Manny, and although this isn’t for me, it’s for a friend, I’d like to take a moment to express my grief at having lost a childhood friend who is dear to me and so many others. However, I want our focus to remain on his family's grief. He is survived by his loving mother, who, unfortunately, is now tasked with burying her second son and last surviving child. Her grief is immeasurable; she loved and cared for her two sons, nurtured them, and such love was reflected in how each of them embraced the world with their own brand of love, affection, and fellowship. She was an amazing mother, and now it’s time for us to be amazing in return. For all the love, compassion, tenderness, and good humor that Matt has given us and the memories that we all share with him and his family, let’s take a moment and think beyond ourselves, and ask what Matt really meant to us? And give as openly as we can; every little bit helps and adds up. Let’s take a moment to ease the heavy emotional burden and bring some form of relief, just as Matthew has done for us time after time.
