Matthew Bailey's Road to Recovery

Matthew Bailey a husband and father of 8 was in a horrible automobile accident involving a combine tractor  on Thursday April 18th.  7 of the children and his wife were in the accident with him. The children had to experience things no child should ever have to see. His wife suffered a broken finger and seatbelt burns his children were all safe other than seatbelt marks. Matthew however didn't make out as good. He was medevaced by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General. His face hit the windshield causing him to suffer from broken bones around the eye sockets, broken cheek bone and a broken nose along with the bone around the nose. His one eye came out of his socket causing nerve damage that isn't repairable. He will have to have surgery to remove the eye and then will have to have a prosthetic placed once it's healed. He has to be seen by a plastic surgeon to discuss the options he will have towards the facial reconstruction surgery he will also have to have. There will most likely be numerous surgery's.
We are not sure on the amount of recovery time he is looking at just yet. Matthew provided everything for his family and now we don't know when he will be able to return to work. They also only had liability on the van they had so now they are without transportation for their family. Every little bit counts and adds up. No donation is too small as it would be a start for this family with all the medical bills they are going to get as well as getting a new vehicle
