Our friends Matthew Kriemelman and Tita Soriano lost their Talent, Oregon home to the Alemeda/Glendover Fire that is ravaging Southern Oregon. Let’s help them get into a new home and begin to replace essentials. Photo shows where their house once stood.
When they got news of the fire on 9/8 they decided to evacuate that afternoon just in case, helped their neighbors and friends to load up (because that’s who they are) and headed to a hotel in Grants Pass. By 2:30 am, there was devastating video coverage confirming that their neighborhood is gone. They are safe.
If you are lucky enough to know Tita and Matthew, you know them to be some of the most thoughtful, compassionate, vibrant, positive, passionate and kind-hearted people in the world.
Tita grew up in the Rogue Valley and has worked in IT, education/youth coaching and public service. Matthew is an accomplished professional musician and teacher. They have lost all of the tech, computers and instruments essential to their livelihoods (already impacted by Covid) as well as most of their personal possessions totaling over 40K. Their home was also Matthew’s studio.
They will need to find a new place to live in a competitive market when the smoke starts to clear. This fundraiser will help them do so and to begin to replace essential items. In the meantime, friends and clients have already provided them with temporary places to live and work.
Tita and Matthew are the type of people who drop everything to help someone. They rally for their friends and community and always show up; now it is our turn to do the same for them. Photo is the remains of their home.
It’s been a tough year for everyone so if you cannot donate please leave them a message of love here. Let’s keep them wrapped up in hope, prayer/meditation and support as they rebuild their lives. Maybe we can even surpass this fundraising goal!
