Hi everyone it’s Matt Felber. About a year and a half ago I was having issues with my stomach to where it hurt when I ate anything and could barley pass waste or pee. The one doctor said it was diverticulitis and prescribed a couple rounds of antibiotics which didn’t help. Round 2 and 3 of different antibiotics didn’t work either. My lower stomach kept getting bigger, but I was barely eating anything. After months of pain and living with it just because the Doctor thought it was just acid and diverticulitis I decided to go to the Emergency room because I felt another attack that felt different than a random “panic attack”. Test were ran to check for stroke or heart attack and it all came back fine and sent home except I was still hurting and barley passing anything each day. Fast forward two days and I could hardly stand up or anything without feeling like I was going to pass out and back in the ER again this time they ran tests on my stomach/midsection. There was a mass that was seen on imagining the size of a baseball near my colon and bladder.

Surgery and colonoscopy was scheduled for the next day where a drain was put in to see if it can be reduced in size and a 7 day stay in the hospital followed. I was sent home and told to come back in a couple days to check the progress through MRI and imagining. Surgery was set to remove for two weeks later and sent home.

On Monday April 4th the colonoscopy was done and the Dr couldn’t get past the mass in the colon. Surgery the next morning APRIL 5th as early as possible. After the surgery the surgeon told us the the mass was removed and half of my bladder and 4 inches of the colon was removed and reattached, also the mass that was supposed to be the size of a baseball or softball and a “abscess” turned into a 10lb tumor the size of a volleyball and had cancer inside. After another 8 days in the hospital I will be sent home tomorrow and chemotherapy and radiation to start within the next month or so.

The money will help with bills because as of right now I can’t work and my sick pay and vacation time has been used.
