A lil about me:

Hi! My name is Mattea, Im a 27 year old black, queer, genderfluid human who currently resides in Kansas City, MO. I recently graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and am in the pursuit of a MA in Counseling to become a therapist, in the meantime I am a program manager at a youth homeless shelter. I am a founder of a community project, Con Amor (@conamorKC), which was intentionally crafted to support the healing and thriving of BIPOC and Queer people. I am happily married and I love love!

As someone who came out as gender fluid 5 years ago, my gender expression and energetic balance is something that is deeply personal to me and both sacred and spiritual. I know this procedure would bring me closer to my truest sense of self. Struggling with chest dysphoria on a daily basis can be a very daunting and overwhelming experience, however this surgery would allow me to exist in the world with less weight and worries and more joy and freedom - two things we could all use a little more of right now.

Why I need your help:

After intentional consideration, I have decided that Top Surgery will allow my physical vessel to become apart of my dreams for a confident, empowered, and happy future me. My insurance is unwilling to cover any of this medical procedure and I will have to pay $15,000 out of pocket ($13,000 for the surgery, $2,360 for anesthesia + hospital stay, and $300 for pathology. I am not in the financial position to afford all of this out of pocket, and I am calling on my community for support to make this dream come true.
