About a year ago, we were all sitting in Matt Kappel's living room, talking about how much he hated running. The only place I'd ever seen him run to was McDonald's.
This quickly devolved into a bet. A few of us said we would give Matt $100 each if he would run the Pittsburgh Marathon in 2018. None of us thought he would.
As per usual, he surprised us. After a year of training, Matt has now run past McDonald's countless times.
In typical Matt style, he didn't want the money. He decided to donate it to a fantastic charity instead. In his own words:
"I am running the 2018 Pittsburgh Marathon in order to raise money for The Felician Sisters of North America, Haiti.
In January of 2016 I assisted photographer Elliott Cramer who documented Sister Mary Inga Borko and Sister Marilyn Marie Minter in Haiti for 10 days. They are stationed in Jacmel and focus on medical, education, jobs and feeding those in need. All money raised will go toward their foundation.
Please visit their website if you want to know more about The Felician Sisters of North America, Haiti."

Let's help Matt help the people of Haiti, and get him to the Marathon!
