Matt making lemonade

At present there are a number of trials happening all over the world and some have really great outcomes. The problem with this is that MND is so progressive that generally people only get access to one trial and sometimes not even that. They still use placebo drugs which is stupid given that everyone is affected differently so that one shot that they get can be completely pointless.  Than if they find something that works or is helpful it takes 5 years to be certified as an available drug.

This is Matt’s story! 

12 MONTHS : since our world came tumbling down..

Whilst we still have our positive pants firmly intact it's important to share the lemons to our lemonade to paint a true picture to life with MND.

In 12 short months you have gone from being able to run around with our children to now being permanently confined in a chair with only minimal movement in your right arm. You are totally dependant on me & the kids for your arms legs and everything in between... watching you rabidly decline is heartbreaking but I am so incredibly blown away by your constant strength and resilience.

Whilst we have incredible support around us we still often feel lonely in this journey, we know this isn't the case but hard to shake that feeling. We have had hurdles with friends & family we didn't think we would ever face but again it just builds on our strength & ensures the right people are around us.

Behind the scenes can be brutel,no one teaches you how to manage this stuff... we fumble our way through & do the best we can. The kids blow me away every day, being a carer is incredibly tough & the days I struggle they just know to step up, we both burst with pride & under really shitty circumstances we see them shine.

I finished up work this year to be your full time carer so essentially we retired young, something you always wanted = lemonade and whilst it wasn't the way we expected we still squeeze every drop out of what we do.

I know how much your #mattymakinglemonade merch & awareness means to you so this year will see us pick that up to a larger scale.

Your new pool has given you so much freedom from your chair and aloud you to have some fun with the kids like you used too...

alternative therapies & medicine has provided so much hope for us & we truly believe this is where the answers are.

We still have so much to look forward to so keep up the legendary effort & know we will never leave your side. 

All money raised will go to Matt and to MND to find a cure.
