My name is Matt Thorn, and my story is Depressing. Around a year ago, while fighting a cold, I walked up my steps to retrieve my mail; on the way back down, i started coughing; my right leg forgot that there was a step there, and down I went. At first, I was just in a bit of pain the next day, and over the next few weeks, my ability to walk kept getting worse until standing up wasn't an option anymore. I found out I had a ruptured disk and a sever bruised spinal cord with a lot of nerve damage. In march 2022, I underwent surgery to open up the spaces in my upper neck, allowing my spinal cord room to heal. When I arrived home from surgery, I had no way to get around my apartment, so falling was a daily event for me, in the tub, unable to get out for hours, missing the toilet, ouch. It's been a year, and my new MRI is sad about all the recent damage; I've lost 40 lbs, have no muscle, and can't feel my hands or feet. After selling my truck and going through my savings, I am left with nothing, the guy who loves to work; I have been sitting here for a year, applying for help with no success; I am afraid I have a beautiful child I raise he's nine and my angel.
