Lakeview Friends of Matt Tarpey Memorial Fund

Our charming son, father, brother, and friend Matthew W. Tarpey, age 47, left this world for a better place on Jan. 30, 2019. Although he battled demons most of his life, he never lost his sense of humor. Matt used his Irish wit to entertain his family, friends, and strangers across the country, from his childhood in Sussex, New Jersey to high school in Boulder, Colorado. He spent his young adult life in Chicago and Milwaukee before making his way home to Bozeman, Montana, where the joy of his life, his son Liam, was born.

Matt is preceded in death by his father, William M. Tarpey of NY, New York, and survived by his mom, Joan Patwell of NY, New York and Bozeman, MT, and his son Liam (age 10), sisters, Deb, Jeanine (Jake), Suzy (Steven), brothers Mike, and Jim (Azure) and a gaggle of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins galore.

A memorial will be held on Feb. 16th at 5pm at the American Legion Hall, upstairs, in downtown Bozeman. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to this college fund account for Matt’s son, Liam.
