Matt Sansom (Payne) Memorial
Donation protected
Matt Payne (More recently known as Matt Sansom) died suddenly on 5th January 2021 in Barbados. He was in the process of returning to the UK with his wife Mamiko, and sons James and Louis.

Matt and Mamiko's Dream
Following several years in Japan, it was Matt and Mamiko’s dream to move back to the UK so the boys could spend time with Matt’s Mum, Bonnie, and attend school here.
They had planned a stay in Barbados to avoid Covid before returning here. However, the day after landing Matt died. Cause is not yet known.
---
The Funeral
Due to current restrictions and costs, the funeral will be in Barbados. Matt's ashes will be scattered in the ocean off Barbados and Hawaii – a place he loved.
It is etiquette in Japan, as it is here, to help support the bereaved family.
As Matt's business had demanded all of his cash, this left Mamiko and the boys with nothing, any financial contribution will be even more welcome.
Contributions are normally 3,000 Yen to over 30,000 yen – roughly £20 to £200. If you would like to contribute, please click the donation button.
---
Funeral / Online Gatherings
There will not be a funeral due to the circumstances. The family will be saying goodbye privately.
So we are inviting those who knew and loved Matt to send through video or written memories of him, as you wish, for his mother Bonnie Hughes, widow Mamiko, and the two boys, and indeed everyone to share between one another.
Please share any messages to seth [at] seth [dot] co [dot] uk and use WeTransfer.com if files are large.
---
Rest in peace Matt. We will all miss you.
