As most of us have noticed over the past few years, our normally light on his feet Matthew Swain has slowly but surely worn his hip out ... after finally maneuvering the death maze that is our health care system and obtaining insurance, he was able to receive an accurate diagnosis of his condition.  Avascular necrosis which is the cellular death of bone components due to interruption of the blood supply is the affliction.  Without blood, the bone tissue dies and the bone collapses.  In his case, this inevitably leads to the need for a complete hip replacement.


OUR GOAL:

The surgery is imminent but in order to schedule the procedure his insurance deductible must be met.  This is $1,500.  As soon as we can meet this goal, he will be on his road to recovery ... meaning that he can have the surgery, start physical therapy and  remain sane during a likely two month recovery period.  It is with humility and a thankful heart that we are reaching out and asking for assistance!
