Matt Needs a New [Catalytic Converter]
Donation protected
On Friday, I started my lil' Prius That Could and heard the sobering, deafening, demoralizing lion roar San Franciscans fear: The sound of fumes passing through an open exhaust system. That's right, babes: Someone had stolen my fucking catalytic converter sometime in the night.
The said theft couldn't have come at any worse time. When I launched Underscore_SF in September of last year, I poured basically all of my savings into getting it off the ground; I also lost one of my biggest freelance clients, as well. The past few months have been a rat race to rebuild my emergency fund and depleted savings account.
Suffice it to say this has thrown a huge wrench — rather, a Sawzall — into that effort.
All that recouped money is now gone.... and then some. I was fortunate enough to find a shop in South San Francisco that's willing to replace the catalytic converter for just over $2,000; this is around $1,000 less than what other shops have quoted; I'll take any good fortunes I can get.
Money is hella tight (read: it's a full-grown reticulated python around my diaphragm), right now. If you're in the financial place to do so, any and all donations toward getting the "cat" replaced would be *very much appreciated,* helping me get over this rather significant molehill.
Thank you in advance for the support, groovy bipeds.
