Matt Maxwell Recovery Fund

Donation protected

Matt Maxwell was in a catastrophic motorcycle accident a few days ago. He's currently in the ICU unit at Mt. Carmel East Hospital.

The accident was brutal. He has suffered a head trauma resulting in bleeding on the brain, dental trauma, a broken clavicle, ten ribs broken in multiple places and a collapsed lung. He has a chest tube in and is being given oxygen to help stabilize his breathing. And to add more to the mix, he has asthma.

Please help with a donation affordable to you.

I have been privileged to call Matt my best friend since I was 14 or 15 years old. Those of you that know him, know he would do anything for another in need - he lives that value. So many people love him and we are all just thankful this accident did not take his life.

But his road to recovery is going to be a long one. He owns and operates Hidden Springs North America, a commercial and residential irrigation company. He still gets out there and works like he's a teenager, leading his team to work honest and hard by example. The busiest season for his company is Spring and Summer but we're all in mandated lock down.

His immediate need: None of his personal bills for the month of May are covered right now. And the forthcoming medical bills will hit like an avalanche.

But he's not going to continue working like that for quite some time. It's my hope that all the people that know and love him pull together and help to lift some of what will assuredly be a significant financial burden from his shoulders in an effort to help make sure the home for he and his beautiful daughter, Emma, is not in jeopardy.

No contribution is too small - none too big.

Please keep Matt in your prayers. He's been through more than anyone should have to go through in such a short amount of time.

Lastly, consider sharing this campaign on your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or other social platforms and apps you connect on. According to GoFund Me, social sharing can improve campaign results by 350%.

From his family and friends - THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

I'll add updates of his recovery to the bottom of this campaign over the days and weeks ahead.

Update as we grow near to our fundraising goal for Matt.

First, let me express my deep gratitude for the amazing show of love and support. He's blessed to have such amazing family and friends. Without you this would not be possible.

These are promising signs:

1. His chest tube has been removed
2. As I understand it, he's been stepped down from an ICU room or will soon be
3. There is no dental damage as first reported. He had gravel in his mouth from the accident
4. He's sleeping a great deal and the doctors have him on medication to manage his pain
5. My mom, Linda Stacy, checked in with the nurses and you can send cards or notes to Matt Maxwell c/o Mt. Carmel Hospital, room 3N31, 6001 East Broad St. Columbus, Ohio 43213

To keep the momentum up and reach our goal I'm asking everyone for other promotional ideas you can take the lead on to get the word out and to continue to share that link out. There's been 635 shares and 62 donors. So approximately every 10 social media shares results in one donation. So please, SHARE, SHARE, SHARE! You can even text the link too.
