Matt Lezak -Medical Relief Fund

Matt is a vibrant and healthy 23-year-old young man who has an undiagnosed severe medical condition. Matt has been having frequent daily severe Grand-Mal (Tonic-Clonic) and Sub-Clinical seizure’s that have no medical explanation. This all started January 8th, 2022. Matt had his first Tonic-Clonic seizure EMS was called he went to Elmhurst Hospital. They sent him home with antiseizure medication. January 9th Matt and his girlfriend Christa were spending time at his home in Elmhurst when Matt had his second Tonic-Clonic seizure and Absent seizure and his heart stopped. Christa administered CPR until EMS arrived. Matt had a total of 3 seizures within 24 hours. After his third seizure he was admitted to Elmhurst Hospital where he was for three days before being transferred to Rush Medical Center for better care and we are hopeful we will get some answers. Matt is in the ICU with the BEST doctors trying to figure out the reason this is all happening. They are performing every test imaginable and have doctors at Mayo Clinic consulting on Matt’s case. Matt has been intubated and sedated for multiple days so that additional testing can be done and also to give his body and brain time to heal and rest. We are starting this fundraiser to help relieve the financial burden from the family so they can focus on helping Matt heal. We are all praying for a diagnosis soon so that a treatment plan can be established. Matt is a fighter and WILL get thru this. Matt we all love and know you got this.
