Matt Jackson - Fight of a Lifetime

Donation protected
Hello, I have put together this fundraiser for my best bud of over 30 years, Matt Jackson.
Matt was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and went through a thirteen-hour surgery in Seattle on August 30th. The surgeon was able to remove the tumor, remove his thyroid, multiple lymph-nodes, and also rebuild his esophagus from his left pectoral muscle. The surgeon felt confident that she got everything out. With scars running ear to ear, and across his chest, Matt was released on Saturday September 4th, 2021. His follow-up was scheduled for September 13th, 2021.
Thursday, September 9th, 2021, Matt received a call from the surgeon. Bad news. Matt has now been diagnosed with Stage 4 Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer. This type of cancer is extremely rare and very uncommon for a male in his forties according to all the research out there. There’s no indication of what has caused this type of cancer. Matt just felt a lump in his neck and went to the Doctor this summer.
With this new reality they have to face the question: Now what? Matt has already been out of work for almost a month due to the cancer and fatigue from the cancer. Now they want him back in Seattle on Monday 9/13 for prep, MRI etc. and the surgery on Tuesday 9/14 to have a tracheostomy.
Matt is going to be in Seattle for at least the next six weeks for an aggressive attempt to treat and eliminate the cancer through external beam radiation and chemotherapy.
There is very little time to plan anything, Matt & Jayme are rushing to get things in order for this unexpected turn of events.
All proceeds raised will benefit Matt Jackson and Jayme Starr (Matt's significant other) to help them with expenses for hotels, food, bills etc. As you can imagine, six weeks in a hotel in downtown Seattle can add up quickly.
The most important thing right now is for Matt to stay positive and fight this thing with all he has. Please keep Matt and his Family in your thoughts and prayers during this exceptionally difficult time.
If you have the means to donate, please donate and share. Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated.
Godspeed, Matt!
Chris
