Dear Friends

    Even the strongest, most independent people need help. Matt and Adam Hazel have been taking care of their mom who has been battling cancer for a little under two years. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and it has now unfortunately spread to her brain. Up until the weekend of Jan 5th, she was 100% independent and self-sufficient. Then, per her own words, she crashed and burned. She has been in the hospital ever since. They are trying to get Judy strong enough to come home. 

   Matt is also dealing with his own health issues, and had to have shoulder surgery 2 months ago and is fresh out of the sling. He now needs the time to heal and stay with his mom as she comes home to him for  hospice care. They are all tapped out emotionally and financially.

   Adam lives and works in Denver and has been in Atlanta for 3 weeks without income, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. Judy is no longer able to work. Matt ‘s work is slow to begin with in the winter.  The work he’s already missed while recovering from surgery, coupled with the potential work missed, is going to make things tougher for the head of the household (Matt). Times are already tough in the face of an uncertain future for the Hazels.

This week Judy was able to come home for hospice care. She is happy to be home with her dog, Geisha and her two sons.

Please help our Matt and his brother stay with his mom as long as possible.
