Hello everyone,

My name is Kethia Harder, and I am a close friend of Matt’s. I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart to share that Matt was recently involved in a serious motorbike accident while on his way home after a grueling 12-hour shift serving as a paramedic.

Matt sustained multiple injuries, including a fractured left scapula and clavicle, a shattered right wrist (now stabilized and awaiting surgery), and a collapsed lung on both sides requiring a chest tube. He also has internal injuries involving his small intestine that will require surgical intervention, along with a brain bleed that is currently under close monitoring.

Matt is one of the most selfless, compassionate individuals I know, the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He recently got engaged to the love of his life, Emma, and had been preparing to begin Advanced Care Paramedic training this fall to further his ability to serve the community.

Now, as he faces a long road to recovery and rehabilitation, I am asking for your support to help ease the financial burden that comes with such a traumatic event. Medical expenses, ongoing therapy, and everyday costs like a mortgage and utilities don’t stop — even when life does.
