Matt Cameron Iraq war vet and ex boxer needs help
Donation protected
Matt Cameron Iraq Vet and pro boxer contracted a terrible life threatening infection after back surgery.
Us Camerons are a stubborn bunch. We rarely ask for help, advice, let alone money, but we are at a vital point in Matt's rehabilitation where we sincerely need it.
Matt endured back surgery months ago; his incision was then catastrophically infected (we believe his stitches were taken out much too soon). He was rushed to the ER, immediately put into Intensive Care, and was diagnosed with Spinal Meningitis. Matt's brain and spinal fluid were heavily infected and treatment started immediately. As if this wasn't cataclysmic enough, while in this horrific comatose state, Matt also suffered a stroke. Our family was on the brink of losing the man of the household, the glue, the goofy rock that has always held us together. Distraught is not compelling enough of a word to describe our emotions at this time... but by the grace of God (or whatever is up there), our soldier fought and battled his way back to us. Matt lives to fight another day.
Now during this terribly gut wrenching time, Matt was obviously unable to work, and still has a grueling journey ahead to reach that point. The immediate Cameron family has been doing their very best to keep Matt's head above water when it comes to medical, PT, rehabilitation, and household bills... but there is only so much we can do. Matt is doing much better, but he still has a very long road ahead of him. He will need continuous therapy as well as financial support. We understand that every dime counts nowadays, and we understand if you can only offer thoughts and prayers... but if it is at all possible for you to donate to this cause, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Every dollar counts at this crucial time. Thank you to all our friends and family who have been nothing short of life savers. We are eternally grateful.
