My step-dad, Matt, was in a serious tree accident in January. The 5-second version is that he broke both ankles, both legs, both knees, severed the main artery in his right leg, broke his back in 2 places, broke a few ribs and broke his left wrist. He's had several surgeries and will need several more. He's currently in rehab for a few months after just spending a month in the Trauma unit at the hospital. He has a long recovery ahead and mounting medical bills.
