Hi this is Ashlea Berry and Todd Milici along with a close group of Matt and Marcus Bailey’s friends. We were all devastated to hear of the passing of Matt on Thanksgiving morning. Many of us had lost touch with him over the years but one thing is certain, he was never forgotten by any of his friends! If you asked anyone from our years at Crosby or Eastern who was the coolest person they remember, most all would say without hesitation, MATT BAILEY!! A close second would be his younger brother, Marcus Bailey. They were almost always together and had a deep bond that they shared all of Matt’s life. They lived together and weren’t just brothers, they were best friends. They always had each other’s backs. Oh and they loved playing music together! Matt was an incredibly talented drummer. We all grew up listening and watching him play the drums.

There is so many more special things we could share about both of them. They both have faced struggles and a lot of loss but they always had each other. Now, Marcus is left to carry on Matt’s legacy of kindness and we know he will!

Marcus needs our help. He hasn’t asked for any help and he’s extremely humble and gracious. He has a lot to handle with preparing to move out of Matt’s apartment and needs to take care of a lot of bills. Honestly, he just needs some grace and compassion so he can get through this extremely difficult time. We want to help ease his load and mostly let him know he is loved and that Matt was deeply loved. Matt was so kind hearted and I know more than anything, he would want to make sure Marcus is okay.

Matt passed away from an aggressive cancer. He is going to be cremated but that expense has been covered. There will be no services at this time. Marcus would like to have a Celebration of Life in the Spring for friends. We will assist him with making it as special as possible. Right now, Marcus just needs some time to process and heal. Death is hard enough without adding moving and financial burdens. We would be so grateful if we could all come together and be a blessing to Marcus right now. In Honor of Matt. ❤️
