Matt and Stephanie medical expense fundraiser

Hi, my name is Shelley Bechtel and I have created a fundraiser for Matt and Stephanie for all of those that can't make it on August 20th. These two have endured 2 years of extensive medical expenses. This journey of health care began in June of 2020. Matt has only one functioning kidney now. While on blood thinners he had a retinal artery stroke that has left him blind in his left eye. They have endured multiple ER visits for congestive heart failure, poor kidney function and his recent loss of vision in his left eye. He now holds a diagnosis of Takayasu arteritis. Matt will undergo a massive surgery this August to replace his ascending aortic root where the aneurysm is in the heart, a mechanical valve to replace his aortic valve, possibly replace tricuspid valve and possibly coronary artery bypass graft depending on what his CT of his chest shows. There is a good chance he will be on dialysis after surgery.
