Matt and Jess Topper

I am a friend of Jess and Matt, two wonderful people who are walking through the most tragic moments of their lives right now. About 9 months ago Jess found out she was finally pregnant after years of trying. The joy they felt was unexplainable. At Jess' 20 week ultrasound appt. they got news that turned their worlds upside down. Sweet baby Melody was showing to be missing her kidneys (Bilateral Renal Agenesis) . Jess did everything in her power, with attending all high risk appts, and seeing all the specialists, most of which were not covered by her insurance. Sweet baby Melody was born on Valentines day (02/14/21),  and was held by her precious parents for four and a half hours before she took her last breath and woke up in the arms of Jesus. Jess remained in the hospital until she was healed enough from her C-section to return home. The medical bills that have poured in have already reached around $5,000. The loss of a child is unbearable in itself, and having crippling medical debt on top of that is suffocating. No parent should have to bury their child. There isn't much anyone can say to take the pain away, but helping to lighten the load financially speaks volumes to how much people love and care about your situation.
