Setting up this funding option was not an easy decision for us. Matt and I take pride in our work ethic and character as individuals and as a couple. But as we embark on a journey that we never expected to need to travel--pursuing infertility treatment to fulfill our dream and vision to be parents--we have decided to take this step.
At this time, for various reasons, IVF is the best option before us. As many of you likely know, IVF is such a roller coaster, emotionally and financially. Though we have good, stable jobs--working 40+ hours per week with benefits--neither of our insurances cover fertility treatments. That leaves us paying for everything out of pocket, 100%. We are praying fervently that it works the first time, since this initial round is extending us well beyond our means.
