Matilda's Cancer Battle: Your Support Matters

Hello my name is Laura Contreras, im mother of Matilda Hernandez my 9 year old daughter. On April 23, 2025 my daughter woke up getting ready for a school when I’ve noticed she had a huge lump on top of shoulder and I called her Dr an schedule her a dr appointment that same morning at Radys children’s clinic , when we arrived the dr said “ I’m sorry but you will need to rush her to the San Diego Radys Children’s Hospital when she told me that my worries got worse and was hoping it was nothing serious so I arrived at hospital around 12:30pm in San Diego Radys Children Hospital when my daughter was told not to have anything to drink or eat, they did a MRI on her an were told she had a couple of tumor mass in her body right shoulder an small left shoulder an chest so we were admitted to the hospital the following day the doctors performed a biopsy an took a piece of her mass out an sent to the lab for more tests. April 24, 2025 was when the doctors told me my daughter was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin Lymphoma Cancer it’s been heartbreaking having this disease diagnosed. It’s sad that this is happening to our young kids. Since the diagnosis I’ve had to stop working temporarily until further notice to care for my daughter and drive her to her appointments which are around 45 minutes away. I am a single mom of 6 kids and I’ve been having sleepless nights worried about getting my daughter the right care she needs along with caring for my other kids just a year ago my family lost my father due to cancer as well and at the time was me and him taking care of all the finances since his death it’s been difficult to maintain our home so I am asking for your help I will appreciate any financial help that will go towards my rent and household expenses and any out of pocket medical expenses thank you god bless you all and your families.
