My name is Suzi Maldonado and on February 26, 2020, my nephew, Mathias Kennedy, was involved in a single car, auto accident which tragically resulted with Mathias suffering a severe, traumatic brain injury as well as some internal injuries. Mathias has thankfully come out of a coma and his internal injuries are healing, and although he remains in ICU, he is making progress each day. The doctors and family are hopeful but know this will be a very long road to recovery.
Mathias' parents, Lisa and Ed Kennedy, along with their youngest son, Nolan, recently moved to Oregon while Mathias remained living in Southern California where the accident occurred. At this time, Lisa and Ed are traveling back and forth to care for Mathias and hope to bring him back to Oregon with them to support his long-term recovery, but that timeline is also unknown.
Anyone who knows my family, knows how close we are to the Kennedy family. Our two families have raised our children side-by-side over the past 25 years, living in the same town only a few miles apart and so that is why I am seeking support from friends and family to help Mathias' long, uncertain and challenging road to recovery. Please take a moment to share this campaign and contribute in any way you can. Thank you so much for your prayers, love and support. I will be sure to provide updates.
Thank you,
Suzi
