On the morning of September 22, 2024, Mathew Issac Rudes – beloved son, deputy district attorney, and all-around crusader for disability rights and awareness – passed away at the age of 38.

Prior to his passing, Matt spent 9 weeks in the hospital, getting intensive treatment for complications of his rare genetic disorder – severe spontaneous infantile Marfan syndrome. During this time, his mother Carol spent every day with Matt, tirelessly advocating for him and praying for his recovery.
