Hello, We are raising funds for a dear friend and well-respected Army Officer, Mathew Kennedy. Matt is currently deployed, and tragically a fire broke out in his apartment building. He has lost everything, including his personal belongings and many irreplaceable memorabilia. Matt has been in the Army Reserves for 13 years and is on his 3rd deployment overseas. His civilian career (and passion) is teaching 4th grade at Foose Elementary School in Harrisburg. Matt has always been a constant source of optimism, full of kind words, advice, and compassion. He always makes time for his Soldiers, friends, or family even when he is stretched thin himself. Matt was born to be a leader and a teacher and has touched so many lives. We feel this is the least we could do for him as he does so much for so many others. While it is impossible to replace cherished memorbilia, we all want to do what we can to make his transition back to the States and civilian life a little easier with a little less pain. Transitioning from deployed life back to civilian life is already not an easy task but this kind of tragedy adds so much more stress and hardship.
