Mather came to us back in June; he was young and pretty feral and clearly had been roughing it outside alone. Shortly after he came to stay with us here at the Shelter it was discovered he had a heart murmur and soon after we discovered he was born with a defective heart. He had a hole in the left side of his heart that needed to be corrected or he would not live but another year. The original surgery, if done by a board certified cardiac surgeon would have been over 10,000 dollars. Although we strive and try our hardest to take care of our animals and their medical care, we are but a tiny nonprofit and cannot afford surgery so grand. We were able to find a few local and wonderful Vets who could perform the surgery for way less, and were happy to do so.

The surgery was great success, or so we thought. Sadly when Mather went back for his recheck Echo post surgery, the sutures had tore. The little angel has so much scar tissue build up on his heart they just could not hold. So now we are back at square one. Mather needs a plug installed, but this time it MUST be done by a Board Certified Cardiac Surgeon.

So now we must raise money and get funding to help him get his life saving surgery.

Mather is an adorable little weirdo, who was dealt a bad hand. He has come so far in his foster home and his corky little personality and confidence blooms every day. This boy deserves to live out a long and happy life and get to see, taste and smell all the greater things in life. Any Donation would help, and would be so greatly appreciated.
